When I first came to TLC, I was moving back to GR after being gone for 5 years. Moving back to my hometown and starting over finding a church - one that would embody God's presence like the one I belonged to in Ohio - was tough. As soon as I walked into TLC I knew it was the place for me. After attending for 3 months, I knew I was still yearning for community, friends, and belonging that I had not found yet in my move back. I decided to go to Connect30 and then immediately signed up to join the Hospitality team.

I knew if I was going to make this place home, I needed to dive in. And wow, did God move. Not only did I make friends, but it has also led me to be more involved in other aspects of the church like helping plan events, serving at the Guest Hub, and leading a local group. My Sunday team is so fun, kind, and loving. I do truly look at them as my church family.

If you’re skeptical about taking the jump to serve I promise you it will grow you in your faith and love for Jesus, and help you learn about the heart of this church. It’s a place where anyone, no matter your background, can be a light and impact the next generation of newcomers to TLC.

I just wish I had done it sooner!
